Dagens Ungdom base their pop songs on a classical verse/refrain structure. They sing in Norwegian but have been compared to bands such as The Go-betweens, Felt, The Bats, The Chills and Teenage Fanclub. This is pop music with distinct melodies and clean, intertwining guitars. Dagens Ungdom played their first gig at Blå in June 2012, warming up for Bear in Heaven (US). Since then they have played a number of concerts in the Oslo area and Bergen. This last year they have been recording at Krise Studios with producers Knut Sævik and Øyvind Blikstad. The band consists of Christopher Glass (The Kulta Beats) and Harald Thaulow on guitars and vocals. Kjersti Winjum plays bass, violin and delivers back-up vocals. Drummer Jonas Barsten is also known from bands such as Atlanter, CCTV and Disaster in the Universe.
