New NWGM album and a legendary sampler!!!

The new Now We've Got Members record is a maze of sounds. Every song contains a fragment from another song on the record – a rhythm, a melody, a chord or a lyric. Some of the songs have a shadow song somewhere else on the record. The music is a distinguished blend of various folk musics boiled down to a core of catchy pop. Balkan folk, Ethiopian funk and Greek rebetika from the 30's all meddle in the background of the members' soundscape. dEUS pops in for a cup of tea at Fairport Convention's place and Steve Reich has a shot of pastis with James Brown.

With Club Soda 2012 Cyrano Armageddon takes the step into the good company of well produced releases on Metronomicon Audio. It's at least four years since the last Cyrano release and a lot has happened since then. The pressure is huge and the fall height likewise.

Cyrano Armageddon make live machine music, more organic than the sound described as "electronic" music. The band consists of keyboard virtuoso Cyrano and the human metronome Armageddon.
They are shamelessly and refreshingly inspired by the hits you do not remember anymore, because you have not heard them, but perhaps remember anyway. The music excites the rocker, the raver, the pop enthusiast, and people who likes to dance and those who do not like it.

According to members of the band, this record has a more mysterious and calmer sound than the previous releases: ”This is a dark, disharmonic and repetetive album, with seven long tracks in gloomy folk and prog-surroundings – and sudden bursts of noise from reeds, drums and strings”.

Repulsive Force is anchored in melancholy, but aims for sonic relief: both rhythmic and ominous, both danceable and doubtful, both noisy and melodic. Though containing many a reference to archaic folk and blues, this is no retro album. The last half of the the album gives more space to the hypnotic elements that audiences remember from the band’s live performances. On this album Now We’ve Got Members turns down the volume and tempo and goes off for a search after a maelstrom of acoustic sounds that invites the listeners into hidden musical spaces.
